Summer School of Architecture 2005/06 – course materials

Within the summer school of architecture (Global in the Local) the work and the research are grouped by the regions. We start with the research of the culture and nature (topography) in continental Croatia, establishing its position within the European culture on the basis of sustainable development and recognizability of regions. The first area we are going to examine is Pannonia – Podravina region and the next is mountainous Croatia – Lika and Gorski Kotar regions.

We are going to explore the following issues: The reconstruction of the natural (topography) and cultural territories (reading of the authenticity of a space, its organization, communication, urban and rural networks) with special emphasis on the local communities’ initiatives.

Layers of cultural and natural landscape (topography) including anthropological and archaeological findings, as well as art topography, geology, geography, politology etc. Evaluation of the diversity of Croatian cultural space, both within our own and Middle European context.

Our goal is to recognise the authenticity of the territory and register it in the maps / map it. We also aim at preserving the region stressing high environmental awareness and including expert evaluation on several levels, presence in the field and permanent care. The results of the workshops are to contribute to the creation of guidelines on how to act in local spaces with special emphasis on adjusting the public policy to the territory (and not vice versa), which is a crucial instruction o the Iaac – Catalonian Institute for Architecture.

The results are superposed and seek for synergies between current policy and the initiatives of local communities along with giving the incentives to the strategy of territorial development and regional interests. This is how the development and recognition of the territory will result in acceptable typologies of spaces along the Drava and on the slopes of Bilogora.

Summer School’s Tasks are bicycle rout along the Drava and supporting facilities, numerous archaeological sites in the environs of Torčec near Koprivnica, transformations of farmsteads, thermal water springs, Koprivnica – Mediaeval and Renaissance fortifications.

Even today, nearly 30 years after the original first rocked the athletic footwear market with its scandalously revealing Visible Air cushion, its popularity shows no sign of waning.NIKE AIR MAX 2016 With more than 60 different models and literally thousands of different colorways, theres an Air Max for pretty much every taste, style and purpose out there.
